Employee Survey

Every three years, the employees of Knorr-Bremse worldwide are given the opportunity to express their opinions regarding their employer. To ensure the confidentiality of their statements, the survey is conducted by an independent institution. The questionnaires are evaluated anonymously to prevent them from being traced back to individual staff members.

The goal of the survey is, in addition to measuring employee satisfaction, to obtain and implement recommendations for improving work conditions. Using a coordinated, clearly-defined process, the results are communicated to the staff and discussed together in workshops, from which specific measures are derived.

All measures and recommendations from the most recently conducted, third worldwide employee survey were recorded for the first time in an online database. Responsibilities defined by the teams were also entered in the database. In total, 90 recommendations and 449 measures were defined by 73 different teams worldwide.

The employee survey is now an established tool at Knorr-Bremse for conducting sophisticated observations and evaluations. The relative trend since 2002 has been quite positive: in nearly all topic areas, Knorr-Bremse scores above the benchmark average.
